About Me

Meet Lori
Sports massage therapist, wild swimmer, dog walker, tennis player, and someone who knows firsthand what it feels like when your body won’t let you do the things you love.
I came to sports massage through my own experience with tennis elbow. When I took up tennis, I quickly found myself dealing with the kind of persistent, grinding pain that doesn’t respond to rest and keeps coming back the moment you pick up a racket. Physios weren’t working for me as i felt i needed a more hands on therapy to get me through the strengthening stage — so I started researching, then training.
Sports massage first, then myofascial dry cupping, then IASTM (instrument assisted soft tissue mobilisation) the technique used by professional sports therapists to treat exactly the kind of soft tissue issues that sport creates. I fixed my own elbow. Then I started helping other people fix their problems.
Originally from Scotland, I’ve recently made Borth my home — and it’s hard to imagine a better place to be. I’m usually in the water or on a tennis court when I’m not in the clinic, and I genuinely understand what regular physical activity does to your body, especially after a certain age! The stiffness after a match. The tightness that builds up from having an active job. The niggles that start small and get worse if you ignore them.
That’s exactly who I’m here for — people who want to keep doing what they love without their body getting in the way. For you, that could be your favourite sport, or it could be gardening, playing with the grandkids or just being able to do your job without carrying pain or tension around all day.
I’m a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT) and fully insured. Every session is tailored to you — no one-size-fits-all approach, just focused treatment that gets results.
A clinic that feels like home
I moved to Borth in November 2025 and, after settling in, it felt like the right time to create a clinic of my own here.
At the moment, my clinic is in a dedicated room in my home – a quiet, comfortable space where treatments are completely one-to-one. It’s not a big, clinical environment. I want you to feel relaxed, welcome and able to properly switch off while we work on whatever is bothering you.
There’s something I really like about a home-based clinic. It feels more personal. There’s time to talk, time to understand what’s actually going on, and time to tailor the treatment to you rather than trying to fit you into a standard routine.
I’m still finding my feet in my new home, but I’m already loving Borth and the lifestyle here. Being close to the sea, getting out with the dogs and having the space to build something that feels genuinely mine has been a pretty exciting change.
So, if you’re local and your body is starting to tell you it needs a bit of attention, you’re very welcome to come and see me.
