Sports Massage

Feeling stiff, sore, or run down? Sports massage is a great way to loosen things up, ease discomfort, and help your body work the way it should. You don’t need to be a professional athlete either — this type of treatment is just as helpful for people with busy, active lifestyles or those dealing with everyday niggles and tension.

So, What Actually Is Sports Massage?

Sports massage is a hands-on treatment that works deeper into the muscles and surrounding tissues like fascia, ligaments, and tendons. The goal is to help your body recover, move more freely, and stay injury-free.

Despite the name, you absolutely don’t need to be sporty to benefit. It’s great for people who are on their feet all day, stuck behind a desk, driving long hours, or dealing with posture-related aches.

What Happens During A Treatment?

Everyone is different, so sessions are always tailored to you. I provide a maintenance sports massage for a general tune up, or a clinical sports massage for specific issues. We’ll start with a chat (maintenance massage) or an full assessment (clinical massage) to figure out what’s going on and what your body needs. From there, we’ll build a treatment plan that may include:

  • Deep tissue work to release stubborn tight spots
  • Trigger point techniques to ease built-up muscle tension
  • Stretching and mobility work to help you move better

Many people find regular sessions helpful for keeping tension under control and preventing injuries before they start.

What Can It Help With?

Sports massage can be useful for a wide range of problems, including:

  • Ease tight, overworked muscles
  • Reduce aches, pains, and discomfort

  • Improve flexibility and movement in stiff or restricted joints

  • Boost circulation and help your body recover quicker

  • Lower the risk of future injuries and support rehab

  • Long-term aches such as back pain, tight shoulders, neck discomfort, or sciatica

  • Posture-related tension from work or repetitive movements

  • Muscle soreness after training or physical activity
